...Recently acquired works of art
includes among other items a portrait painted by Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann(1819 - 1881) of one of her sons (presumably Thorald).
...the first works
were bought in 1885. The artworks were the following: by August Behrend "De svenske troppers modtagelse på Albani Torv i Odense 1848" (The Swedish troops are welcomed on Albani Square 1848) painted in 1853, and by J.A Jerichau the sculpture "Troen og håbet. Gruppe til en døbefont" (Faith and hope. Group for a baptismal font) from 1885 and a relief "Æskulap, Flora og Hygæa" (Æskulap, Flora and Hygæa).
